Insomnia This post is here because it is three-thirty in the morning and I cannot sleep. I could post profound thoughts here on the subject of insomnia, but am somewhat hampered in that effort in that it took me a full minute to think of the word "subject."

Hrm. Playing with commentses again. Apparently neither my computer nor Matthew's will allow me to save changes to the template for this, so I'm hashing it out in the grad student office - So far, not so good.
So now I've resorted to asking the Haloscan people for help. *sigh* I'm going Thanksgiving grocery shopping now, though! Turkey, here I come!

OotP
Hollow. I feel hollow.
It's just so . . . different.
Edited to add: Arabella's opinions align with mine, in a far more powerful and accurate way than I could have shared them. Spoilers included, so click at your own risk.

Argh! I am such a dork. There is a dress on ebay that I have unthinkingly allowed my heartstrings to wrap around. Unfortunately, I would have to lose ~15 inches around my waist to fit into it. Which means, of course, that I can't bid on it. If it were five inches, maybe. But not fifteen.
But it is calling me . . .
(and no, I haven't posted about AtE yet. I can't bring myself to. one more chapter and it will be *over,* and I don't want to think about that.)

Dragons & Ribbons A very good sort of story. Just the thing to while away the hours until the next chapter of AtE . . .

For Those of You in The Know:
We found a lodge with an attached chapel. The lodge part can be viewed here. A theoretical reception site can be viewed here. Also, check your calendars for the end of May next year . . . it's looking more and more like that'll be the date.
Rumor has it that a chapter of AtE went to beta today . . . minions, be on alert!

For the Stalkers out There: I decided (mostly because I can, and because I can't sleep) to post pictures of what my house (well, my living room, really) looks like when it's actually clean, which very rarely occurs. This is probably of no interest whatsoever to anyone but my mom; I didn't have the energy or the time to clean before she came to visit.
Now you know. This particular bout of cleaning was inspired by the impending visit of Matthew's sister and her husband. More people should come visit, so we'd clean more often. The living room does not at all match the pictures these days . . . and besides, then people could come duckpin bowling with us. We're all about spreading the love of duckpin bowling. (Below is Jennifer and Matthew S. proudly displaying their duckpin scores.)
I can hear bottle rockets going off under my window. This makes me jumpy, as I can never quite forget that I live in one of the more hated cities in the world . . .
I've been posting a lot of pictures lately. Does this interfere with/increase anyone's browsing pleasure? Questions? Comments? Snide remarks?
I'm still awakeful. Which is bad, because I have to be at work early tommorrow because we're expanding into hostile territory - that is, the lab next door. We make more money for the school than they do, and we need the space, so we get it. John and I are not actually thrilled about being involved, but we have little choice; we're just peons in the whole process. So tommorrow I have to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed so I can carry heavy objects into a dirty, hostile room. Yay.
