Tonight
It's so clear and cold here tonight that it looks like our balcony has brought us even closer to the city. The capitol is gleaming briliant white tonight, and I can see a hundred patterned stars, moving in their dance into and out of Reagan. It is beautiful. This is my favorite time of year, when your breath makes shapes in the frosty air of the mornings, the sun blazes warm on a cooling earth in the afternoons, and over it all a perfect azure sky.
For once, everything has fallen into place. My job, my home, my life. All, tonight, is perfect.
Just like the night.

Lyrics for a Bad DayBut I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

We should be fine. I have work off today, and so I'm going to spend the day moving stuff away from the windows, putting electronics in the closets, stuff like that. We moved the stuff in from the balcony last night, and it's nice to have pretty flowers in the house. :) I've got the news on in the background, and they say the wind is already picking up. The eye is supposed to pass over us - or just to the west of us - around midnight or a little after tonight. I think we're planning to huddle in the big closet most of the night - though we may abandon it for the stairwell if things look bad. We've got bread and water enough for several days, and fortunately there's no danger of flooding on the twelfth floor.
Don't worry if you can't get in touch with us for the next several days - lines go down like dominoes here even at the slightest hint of storms.
Be safe!

A Break from the Hard Labor of Building an Ark
How evil are you?
Now you know.
