Metallica
So tear me open, pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me, until it sleeps

The Promise
- Eileen Rafter
The sun danced on the snow with a sparkling smile,
As two lovers sat quietly, alone for a while.
Then he turned and said, with a casual air
(Though he blushed from his chin to the tips of his hair),
"I think I might like to get married to you"
"Well then, she said, "Well there's a thought,
But what if we can't promise to be all that we ought,
If I'm late yet again, when we plan to go out.
For I know I can't promise, I'll learn to ignore
Dirty socks and damp towels strewn all over the floor.
So if we can't vow to be all that we should
I'm not sure what to do, though the idea's quite good".
But he gently smiled and tilted his head
Till his lips met her ear and softly he said
"I promise, to weave my dreams into your own,
That wherever you breathe will be my hearts home.
I promise, that whether with rags or with gold I am blessed
Your smile is the jewel I will treasure the best.
Do you think then, my love, we should marry - do you?"
"Yes" she said smiling "I do".

Sentiment of the Day
Stupid people make me unhappy.
(I am not alone in this. Today, when trying to talk a bright undergrad into attending grad school instead of med school, several grad students used the arguement: "but if you're a doctor, you have to be around/deal with stupid people!")

Snape has the right of it
Was riding home the bus today next to two insanely giggly, vapor-headed freshman girls. They lived on the north part of campus, so they assumed that the "Adelphi North" bus would take them to their dorms. Nevermind that Adelphi is the name of the neighboring town. There was much ear-splitting shriekage when their dorms were passed, and at the next stoplight they confronted the driver, who tried to explain where the bus was going. I felt pity on him, because you could tell they had no clue, so I intervened. Besides, if they hadn't gotten off at the next stop (at my encouragement), I would've had to sit next to their inanity the whole trip. I find it hard to care if they found their way to the adjacent bus route.
After they got off, the bus driver shook his head, and solemnly offered this wisdom "You shouldn't smoke weed."

Two Morning Quotes
"Any woman can flash skin," says Southern author Ronda Rich, "but the most irresistible damsel is the one who seduces and flirts with a sharp, knowledgeable mind."
"[Tech] just attracts weird people, and that's all there is to it. Also, the normal people leave their first year, 'cause the first time they see people playing D&D in the student center, they realize they came to the wrong school." - some random guy

Early Morning Anger
It is my firm belief that the state should not be in the business of legislating morality.
I don't know if I should be allowed to vote again - I did such a horrible job of it the first time.
