To My Minions: An Apology, Of Sorts
I read the chapter last night, around ten. Afterwards I was crying, and too emotionally drained/wound to make a post. If you haven't read it now, drop what you're doing, go be near a loved one, and read.

There are no words to describe it.

Gah!!!
I had typed up a nice, lovely long entry. With pictures and everything. And just as I was hitting 'post,' my computer ate it.

Tidbits
I was too sick to go in to work today, so instead of doing anything useful I played online today.

Matthew's family seemed to have no knowledge of what was going on with wedding planning so far. How is communication breaking down, I wonder?

I have a huge bump on the back of my head from whacking my head this morning. It hurts.

Here are some random pictures from the weekend:

Actually, those are from here - we bought them Friday (well, Matthew bought them for me) and that's what they looked like Tuesday when we got back. Yay, Sam's flowers!

Mema, D-daddy, and Deedee listening to something being said across the table. Perhaps it was the digital camera conversation that went on *all* weekend. It didn't actually go on all weekend, but it came up a lot, and was insufferably boring. At least to me. I'm sure that's what Matthew thinks when weddings come up, though.

Jimbob showing off his garden's accomplishments. The cucumber was later featured in the salad. Yum.

Matthew modeling his new hat. For once, it was on his head, instead of mine. (I kept stealing it because I managed to sunburn my head at the beach.)

Another shot of Matthew and the hat. I think the hat should be named - it has more personality than some people I've known.

That's all the pictures from the weekend that we have postable at the moment. We didn't actually take that many - virtually no scenic shots, and most of the people ones have their eyes shut or something. More pictures will be finding their way onto this page soon, though, as my computer's memory has been beefed up and it can handle it. I just wish I knew how much space I have available on my wam account.

There were no AtE updates this weekend. This makes me sad. But there are only 23 days until OoP. This makes me happy.

I came up with a wonderful idea for invitations and such this weekend. But no one understands it unless they've read Lemony Snicket or Miss Aleineus, and so I cannot explain it to Matthew. :(

As of today, it has been a month since the last truly sunny day here, as evidenced by this article and my mad dash for the balcony for the minute-and-a-half the sun peeked through the clouds today.

Hmmm. Time for lunch. Except that somehow it got to be 5:21 without me noticing. How did that happen?

The End of Things
*flexes muscles experimentally*

Well, I don't feel any stronger. But I do miss Spike and Anya. :-/

(and really, what's wrong with being cookie dough, especially if you've found another lump of cookie dough and you decide that if you've both got to go in an oven, what's wrong with going in the same one, eh?)

Minions!
At last! Bask in the joyfulness that is a new chapter! Frolic and read and be glad!

Oooh! And it's about Ella! Finally!

*runs off to read*

Edited to add: Doh! Read it now read it now read it now . . . oh, it's so wonderful and amazing and read it read it read it!

Procrastination
I would like to recommend weddings as a useful tool for procrastination. This afternoon I have not progressed one sentence on the paper I'm theoretically working on, but I have decded I like organza and draped skirts, though not together.

Edited to add: I think I have weddings on the brain. I was lying in bed, trying to go to sleep, when the most amazingly perfect idea in the world popped into my head. Now I'm so giddy I'll never get to sleep . . .

Clicky
I posted an extra-huge picture of me in my current favorite dress. Don't click if you're not on a fast connection, or if you are engaged to me. (random mini-golf related incidents do not count)

I realized today that I was sitting through my last class. Ever, barring a conditional qualifying examination. I will take one more exam, and turn in one more paper, and that's it. It was sort of weird. This is all I've done, for the past seventeen years, and now it's over. It was one thing I was always good at, and I'll never have it again.

I don't know whether to laugh or sigh.

*If,* however, I get ONE MORE EMAIL from a student asking me a question they should've known the answer to already, I will personally *(^(*^^$%##$$^&**)*&^. And scream. Lots of screaming will ensue. Not all of it will be mine, though . . .

The Story of My Life

My love is as a fever, longing still
For that which longer nurtures the disease
Feeding on that which doth preserve the ill
The uncertain, sickly appetite to please

My reason, the physician to my love
Angry that his prescriptions are not kept
Hath left me, and I desperate now approve
Desire is death, which physic did except

Past cure I am, now reason is past care
And frantic mad with ever more unrest
My thoughts and my discourse as madmen's are
At random from the truth, vainly expressed

For I have sworn thee fair and thought thee bright
Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.

You are Nimue, otherwise known as the Lady of the
Lake. Nimue was seen as both a sorceress and a
goddess, she was very much a free spirit and a
beautiful and powerful enchantress.

Which Lady of Camelot Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Okay, so that's not me at all. Oh well, at least the picture's pretty.

I am such a dork. I have a test tommorrow, and all I want to do is go to bed. What did I do that my motivation deserted me? I am only halfway through my first pass through the material, but I have NO desire whatsoever to go back to it. I don't know what happened. In undergrad, I'd start studying for my tests about ten the night before. Now I'm ready to stop then, and I can't seem to do anything about it.

Except pout.

Beleaguered by Halfwits
I've only read the title, and already it makes me happy. Minions, go forth, with courage.

Edited to add: More now. I need more now. You can't just wring my heart out like that and leave me no resolution. I. Need. More. Now.

*sigh*

For My Minions, a Schedule
reposted without permission, from the AtE list. (Zsenya wrote it.)

38 - getting some last-minute re-hash. Will go to beta this
weekend.
39 - done, except for the three scenes we forgot to add.
40 - done, except will become chapter 53 when 39 is reworked.
41 - many pages of notes, all hashed out, only fractionally written, which means Arabella better remind Zsenya what's there so she can get started... she's slooooooooooowwwww.
42 - half written, needs rewrites, and somehow we need to fit the meaning of life, the universe and everything in there.
epilogue - many pages of notes, unwritten. Which epilogue are we using? The one where Harry dies, or the one where Hermione takes pity on Draco and runs off with him? I forget.

50 days? It's... possible. Sort of. Cross your fingers.
